Rigging Station - Chumming & Chunking Striped Bass
Show Notes

In this episode of the SeaBros Rigging Station Podcast Series, Capt. Bryan Sears describes how the Mass Bay Guides fleet chums and chunks dead bait for striped bass.

This is truly one of the most effective methods for catching big numbers of striped bass during a tide, and is a great overall tactic that can be uses for many different fish species...including bluefin tuna.

Bryan gives details on the following:

  • Caring for and storing dead bait for the season
  • Rod and Reel Setups
  • Terminal Tackle
  • How to cut chum and make a slurry
  • How to gauge the tide and chum the right amount
  • How to free-line drift chunks in the slick (we do NOT use weights)
  • How to hook the biggest fish in the school
